Hi guys,

need your expert help in valuated my car. Unfortunately, it's time to give it a new home as i'm trying buy one myself and need the cash as a deposit.

It's a 190E 2.0 auto 1998 E reg. Full merc history with only 31,000 mls and full MOT. Cream colour with the usual spoiler and electrical gizzmoes. It 100% original, no alloys or big sound system just plain and simple oh yes with orthopedic front seats - nice...

Please help with your sugestions on how much I should put it up for.

Cheers

Just for a very rough comparison, and I mean very rough...

I part-ex'ed my previous car, 1986 C plate, 190E, in white, original car again no alloys or sound systems etc, 122k miles, the only goodie mine had was self-levelling rear suspension and MB detachable towbar, for £1,000. I was told by various sources that if I elected to sell my car privately then approx. £650 is all I could've expected. That was back in Jan 2002.

You could browse the used car mags that give current market values of motors. Or websites like Parkers Guide (http://www.parkers.co.uk) to see what you can realistically expect for yours. Unfortunately, nice goodies like your orthopaedic seats won't really affect the market value, the only item that will have a major influence will be gearbox type, people still love their autos.
