Silent Indicators

The indicators and/or hazard warning lights on my 1991 300CE work fine most of the time but occasionally the indicator ticking noise stops, although the indicators seem to still work fine. Any ideas as to what the problem could be would be greatly appreciated.

All you can do is change the relay this is what makes the noise.

the clicking noise comes from a small "clicker" (like a small relay without contacts) on the rear of the dash instrument panel. This is separate to the actual indicator relay/control unit.
