£85 from MB and I have all the details to remove the boot liner to get to it.

You do it with the boot lid opened backwards.

Yes the top 2 do, but better to lever them out so that the backing is not damaged. ½ way down they are expanding clips, pull the center part out, and the larger part pulls out easily, I just use a screwdriver to lever the inner part out.

PM sent, it is quite easy, open the roof backwards, lever out the top corner clips, remove the plastic rivets mid way and the liner should pull forward enough to get to the brake lamp

Only got the car in Oct last year so haven't used the roof and guessing from thread that is how you get the boot lid to open for this job.

Just start opening the roof and stop when the boot lid is open backwards.

Email sent, please reply to it

Hi
Could you post the instructions / photos, the boot liner seems to be located in place very sevurely, 2 clips on each side removed and it is still solid.
I assume that the boot lid has to be hinged (as opening the roof) from the back of the car.
Hope you can help
Thanks

Loose third brake light DIY

Hi Malcolm,
I'm a newbie here as just took over my Dad's 2005 SL (he just wasn't using it-did 14k miles since 2008 in it). Just had major service & MOT done by Mercedes Portsmouth. Passed MOT with several advisories. First was the boot struts which I've replaced myself (crazily easy), others were brake pads low, tyres low, stuff I'll get done by others. Lastly was the loose rear third brake light-which I fancy having a go at myself. Do you still have the instructions for this? Much appreciated, Phil.

Would I be able to have the instructions please? Apologies if my request has appeared twice!
