Hi chaps,
long and short, I'm considering chopping my X Trail in against an ML W163 of some description. This will be used as my towing car for camping holidays as well as day to day for SWMBO and kiddywinkle.
Looking on AT etc I can see a few in my price range- I don't want to go above £3k as I'm now saving like mad for a hoose- but just curious as to what can actually be gotten out of the growly lump of metalat the front end.
270s I have seen have injector seal issues... not heard much bad about the 320 petrol (I6 I presume?).
I'd prefer a diesel but I'm not wedded to the idea- swirl flaps/ actuators etc sound all a bit finicky- so please to tell me your sterling tales of engine tuning and remapping for the two in my price range!
