Needed a xenon bulb , M B quoted me £ 110 plus vat ,
A well know chap on this forum pointed me in the direction of a PAIR of correct bulbs for little over £ 50 delivered .
So that alone makes it well worth being a member .

Had many good results on here .

Im new here and had some good advise from the member television.. he even took time to check out with Mercedes supplied diagrams in order to give the right answer to one of my questions.. worth being an active member... by the way I posted the fault found to my problem on the thread..just for others to see...

Malcolm (Television) actually hand-draws each and every workshop diagram whenever required.

Hi

I am good at presenting cars but rubbish at everything else,so just a quick count I have asked for help on my 2 cars 19 times in the past 12 months and if not directly resolved then direction or additional support has been given and much appreciated .I do look for answers on existing threads as well so there are things I have found out remotely. I have owned over 40 cars but think I know more about my R230 than any other car

If I treat this as an Oscar type nomination then the short list would be Televison,SL55,Turbopete,John Laidlaw although I am sure I will have missed someone, Dont want to open the golden envelope to name the winner as it would be wrong to name one person but maybe it will be on Television later[did you see what I did there?]

Malcolm must be related to Uri Gellar.
My nearside mirror indicator stopped working and a fault code popped up. I assumed it was a short and asked for help on doing the job. Malcolm emailed me the instructions. The fault disappeared and hasn't happened since. I have delayed this response in fear of sods law, but thought you should know about this superpower.

Yes, was suffering with an 'odd noise' which the general opinion was that it was the rear bearings. Vehicle has had bearings replaced and the noise is gone!

ABC help

Have been given loads of help and advice on ABC issues on my W215 CL600 with regard to pump, front valve and damper which enabled me to rectify the faults. Cost to me was parts only where the s/ex pump was the most expensive at £425. Many thanks to all.

Definitely! I've fixed my rear washer jet. Fixed the tailgate boot mechanism (was corroded and the electrics didn't work). Now GLK has kindly provided me with some pictures that shows the rear seals under the bumpers - DYI job to get rid of the water building up in the spare wheel tank.;-)

Preventative maintenance - replaced red turbo and breather seals yesterday.
Would not have attempted had it not been for this forum, so a big THANKS!

Same here - too numerous to mention, always great advice.
As one example - I put together a DRL mod entirely thanks to help and support from Malcolm (television) and Chris (area51).

Managed to clean and flush the boot drainage on the SL through some advice on the forum. Hadn't even found the drainage points before!
