Still a hell of a car for the money though.

Amazing, you can buy a rusty old heap for that money, so much car. That said, obviously the repair and maintenance probably much more than the average sub 2k car

I always had a soft spot for the CL's same front as mine and that big arse! Looks great as a tin top.

For £1000 ... thats less than the price of one front strut,
Blimey if the ABC works, its worth driving it till it breaks and chucking it out for scap.
Hmmm maybe that the cheapest motoring route. Zero repairs and if it drives for a year you are laughing.
