Right i have found a menu which states 158 left front level 10mm 161 right front level 3mm 164 rear level 127mm and 166 pressure at pressure sensor 0 bar. Does any of that help mate cause kooks to me that the pump is not working at all?

Pump has failed most likely; have you noticed poor response recently while driving?

With the engine on, locate the pump. There is a union that comes out of it with a line that leads to the ABC fluid reservoir- this is the pressure regulating valve. Try giving it a (VERY GENTLE!) tap with a soft faced mallet, it may open it.

Otherwise it's flatbed to indy time I'm afraid.

Sorry to say it mate but im glad im not the only one.... was yours the pump that had gone?

Pump (twice...), strut, lines and valve block all needed replacing or stripping and rebuilding.

If your rear wheels have sunk that low, your valve block will also be gunked up; it will need stripping down, cleaning out and rebuilding. I have the correct O-rings in stock if this is the case.

Level sensors are on the struts as I understand it. Pressure sensors on the front and rear valve blocks for the 221.

Reconditioned pumps for the 220/215/230 are £480 from MB (12 mth warranty)- I do not know if they will fit the 221/216/231 though so it will pay to check. The pumps have come down significantly in price over the last two years.

is it no worth checking the larger fuses to see if ones blown ??

It is indeed, it sounds odd that the pump has just gone, usually there will be indications, white warnings and odd activity (including a pretty obvious noise!) before it fails completely.

Not hard but just time consuming. You will need to make yourself a clean area- like surgically clean, no dust or dirt- to break down the valves, remove O-rings, scrub the shuttle bodies clean then rebuild it all.

Valve block is located on the body next to the rear axle. Aluminium block about 8 x 6 x 4" with 4 valve bodies poking out of it, 2 lines leading in and 2 lines leading out (HP in, LP out and one circuit to each rear wheel).

That sounds almost reasonably priced if it's from MB ;)

Yes I was astonished too as it's almost exactly the same as the ones from eBay.

All done mate.

ok but I had this issue on my granddads S class and it wasn't the fuse for the pump that had blown , cant remember which one it was now but I replaced it and 30 seconds later it started to rise up , it was in the big fuse bow on the drivers side

The 212 doesn't have ABC, that'll be Airmatic which is totally different.
