Harsh gearchanges when cold

Hi all

My S65 has an odd quirk when cold.

It will do the 1-2 change very harshly when cold and very light throttle applications. Best way to describe it is when driving a manual car, and lifting the clutch up too quickly.

It disappears very quickly, 5 minutes or so and then its the same as any other 722.6.

Its just had a new oil + filters, no change. Its also worse when its very cold outside.

Ideas?

If you've no diagnostics, you could 'pin-out' with the pilot bush unplugged.

No codes logged or any info otherwise.

I suspect the TC lockup solenoid is sticking in its bores when cold, based on how it feels when cold, this is the most likely scenario.

My 210 box is not the smoothest from 1st to 2nd and always has been like that,
this doesn't bother me as I never use the 'sport' setting so the box never uses 1st gear, all other changes through the box are virtually imperceptible

Indeed, they do seem to vary.

This one is spot on when warm though. It does seem to have a reluctance to kick down but I think its the engine type.

7G's are infamously snatchy when cold. Best to rest the adaptations and go through the gear shift process with the STAR machine.
