Much better. My kit has not arrived yet, will see if the patch antenna idea has any legs (on my car at least)

I'm waiting on the FME to SMA adaptor, to fit it to the car.

Well it turned up and you were right. It's not FME.

So then Mr "Memphis" Foti... waddya reckon the left hand (the one that isn't white) connector is? I'll be sending this to RS' tech support guys later too.

And another. The outer sheath/ shell has slits for springiness I guess.

Not sure, my kit arrived today, looks like this:

Unforunately, all I have managed to do is couple the patch antenna to the antenna in the cradle because I ordered the wrong lead! bah needs to be male fakra!

The white connectors looks the same as yours which is FMA Female, surely the other end is FMA Male?

EDIT: Just spotted your additional response, if you have removed the connector, why not just solder some cable to that and use it?

EDIT EDIT: I did test the antenna cable and it gives +8db gain on signal strength with the wire out the window!

I thought so, lets hope the in built antenna does the same.

Back to your original question- I'll just end up putting a new connector on the antenna loom. I just have no idea which wire to put where.

I have lost you. Are you trying to do what I am doing, or the repeater system?

Sorry. Here I'm on about fixing a small GSM omni ant to the car's external ant amplifier.

So you are trying to connect an antenna to the cradles antenna connector that would otherwise go into the phone?

Yes correct.

AND add a 4G booster, which will be totally separate to the cradle antenna.
