Hi all. I picked up a new to me 2006 w203 180k last week. I wasnt shopping for a Merc at the time and had planned on an Audi or BMW 3 something....

Anyhow, by chance i stumbled across the C class, only having 41k on the clock made me look at it twice..... it feels like a new car to drive, no wear inside at all, 9.5 outside, an extremely clean car for its age.

What i have noticed are the wheels on my Merc are perhaps out of place, there in very good condition with no kerb marks at all. Its just that they are different to all the other w203's ive seen? I see these cars all over now im driving one (always happens) but they all have different wheels to mine.

Does anyone know what there off? Or were they some sort of a "option" when purchased new?

Thanks in advance 20170805_183149.jpg

Yeah, funny how it happens when you get something , having never noticed the same before then see them everywhere!
Anyway, those wheels don't look Mercedes original to me to be honest...look nice though. Originals will have an 'A....' stamped on somewhere if it's important to you.
The rear looks a bit low by the way...unless you're on a slight slope there or the boots full!

Look very much like the wheels off an R171.
Either that, or they're after-market.

Have had several 203's. Great cars.
My personal take on those wheels? They don't suit the car. Others will have different views of course.

Im not over keen on them, there round and have new rubber on them, functional perfect..... but i think once the tyres have worn i may be tempted to go shopping

Definitely not Genuine Mercedes wheels.
They do not have the five holes near the wheel bolts to accept the Tracking Equipment.

Doubt they even got Mercedes part numbers on the back of the wheel spokes.

Picked up four immaculate wheels with good winter tyres for £200 plus £35 courier when I had my last 203.
Either the examples above are on the dear side, or prices have rocketed since my last purchase.

For a wider search, just Ebay 'Mercedes wheels' or better still, 'Mercedes alloys'. As long as you know your preferred wheel size and offset (obviously important) you will get a far wider choice. Plenty of wheels from other Mercedes models also fit the 203 class.

If you are looking at generic wheels then the stud pattern is 5/112, ET 35 (30 - 38 will fit) Centre Bore of 66.6

Size wise (width) 7.5 - 8" front and 7.5 - 8.5" rear

Width difference front to rear is usually only for the Estate, I think. Your 180 should be same all round.
All the 203 saloons I've owned have had same wheels all round. Only my 203 Estate had staggered widths front to rear.

Makes for a wider Ebay choice!
