New to Mercedes

Hi All,

Having owned a Jaguar XE for 2 years I had a phone call from my local dealer saying I was in a good position to change. As I a natural progression I thought I would go for the XF. I had one for a week & was very disappointed. It wasn't as smooth or quiet as I imagined & the build quality was poor.

Looking through the classified ads a week later a CLS caught my eye. My local MB dealer had 4 in stock. A few hours later a deal was struck on 8 month old CLS 350 AMG, with premium
pack & airmatic air suspension. After the first month of ownership I absolutely love it. Smooth, quiet, build quality excellent, handles well with minimum body roll. Family & friends love the look of it & how comfy & quiet it is in the back.

This forum has been helpful so far & I hope to learn more.

Hi Leigh, welcome to the forum. Great choice, not the first time I have heard about build quality on the XF. I even managed to talk my son-in-law out of an XF, he is now thinking in terms of a Mercedes E43.

GAD provide a bespoke remap, which is especially effective on the 350 engine, it takes a fast car and makes it very fast...
and a little more economical too, well documented on here

Now then Leigh... if you ask JBell, he has that engine upto 750Nm and 290-300BHP from memory.

Judging by your number plate I think it might be a very small world... was that CLS preceded by a blue Lexus at all?

Very good thanks- now have a 1yo daughter in addition, finally buying a house, 3 ****** Mercs on the driveway (well, two- you have to have 3 if you want two working ) and you? All good? Still at the same place I saw you last?

Welcome, I'd just say that everything good comes back around. Enjoy this magnificent piece of motoring.

As for me, I like V8's and V12's most. Personal preference, don't blame me for that...
