Hi all,

I've just recently got a 2010 W164 and have noticed that there doesn't seem to be a brake hold feature on it. On older Mercs that I've had, an extra push on the brake pedal at traffic lights etc would mean that the brakes would stay on and the car wouldn't creep forward... I can't seem to activate this on the new (to me) ML... IS this something that can be turned off as a feature?

Any input is really appreciated!

Many thanks!

Neither of my W164 ml's nor the wife's previous W163 had this feature.

My 2010 car (different model) has it so it's strange yours doesn't. Perhaps this ML needs a slightly different technique to your previous cars? It can be quite a temperamental system until you get the hang of it!

Why do you need HOLD?

I've driven my mate's auto E Class with SBC brakes that had it & a courtesy 3 pedal B Class ..... can't say its a feature I'd desire. I just put my autos in Park if need be.

Its like stop start maybe in that you either love it or hate it. I like the hold function as its so easy when stopping at lights etc, rather than select neutral and put the parking brake on, or keep your foot on the brake.

Just stick it in Park ...... no need for emergency/parking/hand brakes ;) and the added bonus of not blinding everyone behind you with your brake lights :D
