Yep didn't think you were disrespecting anybody - just couldn't get my mind around why you wouldn't use it.

I too have been driving for 50 years and having had homes in 8 different countries and worked in many more, I've driven in a huge range of conditions. from jungles & deserts to mountains 12,000ft above sea level.....HOWEVER I am a gadget lover and love the new technology that is available to us in car these days.

It is not about knowing how far away the vehicle in front is, it will maintain the distance you set on your cruise control if the vehicle in front slows down and saves you continually having to reset the cruise control.....try it, you will like it ;-).

It's on my list of "to do" things :)

I would love to have distronic, great bonus to match the speed of the car in front.
Plus who hasnt had a heart thumping moment, when a brief loss of concentration found one coming up too fast!
Luckily I have never had an accident, and always leave plenty of room; But I do admit I have nearly rear ended a few.
It would be very comforting to know one had a guardian Angel watching over me!

It will be a defo plus point on My next upgrade.

Sought after Extras in order of preference:-
1. Burmeister upgraded stereo
2. Exclusive Nappa Leather
3. Rear view camera
4. Park itself
5. Distronic

I collected Golden Rod from Welwyn Merx yesterday. Exhaust back pressure sensor replaced. So far she drives, handles and responds as sweet as a nut.

This morning I pulled about half a pound of leaf mould and other cack from the windscreen scuttle drains, and the rain channels along the tops of the front wings.

Now to get cracked on with packing the house...

Put the SL away for the winter. Full tank of fuel, anti ethanol stabiliser added, tyres up a few psi, battery conditioner attached and cover on.

Looking forward to Spring already

Drove it along the A3 and A272 while regularly being overtake by idiot death-wish bikers who have no regard for speed limits or double white lines. No signs of police. By all means take that sort of risk on a track but not when innocent road users are trying to go about their business!

It's amazing how the dog's fur can get inside the glove box :)

Washed, Clayed, one coat of AG SRP then 2 coats of Collonite 476S managed everything but the cills and one door and the left rear wing
.... then it got dark and the dew started.

Hmmmmwas it was supposed to be dry today ... But light rain all morning .... :(:(:(
A real mare not having the garage free.

But it sure beaded well, even with light misty rain :):)

If you just lightly blow on it, it sheets and runs off. Not a bad gloss when dry too.
Quite impressed with Collinite 476S

Collinite says it last a year on the tin ... LMAO ... just cant see that happening, but hopefully this regime will last 4 to 6 months?
Probably might be good for 3 months; and then a quick wash and another Coat of Collonite to get her through the winter.

The good news was the painfull, time-consuming sheeting of the car; whilst I sprayed the calipers with the dreaded ( float for miles ) Hammerite, pretty much avoided any overspray. :):)
At worst, one light pass of the claybar and silence, glass like paint ! :(

Just been in the garage and measured both sets of winter tyres for tread depth. We are good to go for another year :D

Ordered/bought bits for a full front end rebuild on the 129. New bottom arms, top mounts, anti-roll bar bushes to go with the new tie rods already fitted.
Struts seem OK and the coils were replaced last year. Should see her right for another 10 years after this.
