Went to see 230....
Looks a bit sorry for itself. No rear wheels, no rear bumper, no rear tail lights.
At least its only temporary and will look a lot better by Friday!

Took the C220 to that nice man at Avantgarde Automotive for a service :)

My wallet is a bit lighter and there's still some work to do but money well spent ... cheers Steve (and Lee) :)

Did I miss something about the 230? What’s happened?

No you didn't but good to see you're awake :)

Its gone in for some minor bodywork repairs (rust) and repainting some little bits and pieces. Basically bringing it back to Malcolm's standards. He was aware there was a little corrosion we needed to deal with when we got it. Fortunately we caught it in time before it needed any cutting and welding etc.
The rear spoiler was also a bad paint match so that's being sorted too as is the front number plate surround - all stuff Malcolm was aware of. We opted to get it done professionally rather than do it ourselves for time reasons (and I'm not as good at bodywork as Malcolm :))

is anyone? I've still got the bumper niggles to sort out that he gave me (incredibly detailed) instructions on...

Nice to see what you're doing too. I presume that to honour his memory you will remove the front bumper each year to renew all the trim clips? :D :D

That's my E220 sorted, new software for the gearbox and the Ad-Blue system as well as some other software update. I wonder if it will be keener to get into 9th in Drive now (hope so)

Absolutely love it, so much better than my previous E's and miles better than the 5 Series BM I had for awhile. It's a really pleasant car to drive, very comfortable and very very good on fuel. If I was dropping my own money on it, I'd have memory seats and the larger satnav but apart from that I wouldn't chnage a thing. Best car I've had

W166 GLE350AMG Line 3.0 2017. BMW Z3 2.8 1998.
Washed mine and cleaned the insides.

The dark parts of the interior really do show dirt worse than the light interior of the previous W221.

The 5 spoke wheels with the graphite 'inserts' are very easy to clean.

Got the hardwired Lightning/UCI cable...sounds so much better than Bluetooth audio, and really hearing what the Harman/Kardon setup is capable of.

Also replaced the knackered rubber grommets on the plastic engine cover, which was making the car sound like a tractor...nice and quiet now :D

Self parking Sub? Are you getting that old?

If only I could be as young as the day I wanted self parking. :):)

I am crap at parking, and reversing round a corner, and generally any really slow speed stuff.

Raise the speed and my accuracy improves proportionately..
at high speed, pretty much as good as it gets. I must Definitely be wired up wrong!

The only way I keep my no accident record is avoid any tricky slow speed manoeuvres, park At 6" from the kerb, and in tight situations swallow my pride and get out and check if necessary.
