Hey!

I bought a C220d W204 face-lift estate with AMG styling in the summer and I absolutely LOVE it!

I've made some subtle changes and plan to make a few more. I know some changes might be frowned upon but I have a plan and I'm going to stick to it. It'd be nice to hear what you guys think and if I don't get a royal rippin' I'll continue to post pics in the future and ask for advice as I go :)

So far I have had the wheels refurbished and painted in a satin gun-metal grey.
Machine polished whole car
4 new Continentals (ouch!)
De-badge (feel 17 again ha)
C63 style bonnet grill

I'm going for a window tint on Saturday but unsure how dark to go - thoughts anyone?

Thanks for looking :)
Pete

Nice looking car. Grey wheels good... grille good... tyres good... de-badge - so so... dark tint windows - might spoil it.

But hey it's your car... and I'm just an old git rooted in the 70s who keeps his cars as they left the factory.

Hi Pete, welcome to the forum. I personally do like to see cars as they are supposed to be, but, so far yours looks OK :)

I know what Andy and others above are saying, it’s nice to see the original specification as manufacturer made it, but in many cases it can be improved, and I believe in your case this is one. Looks good

Thanks for the kind words guys. I kinda expected to get mixed reactions as it’s not the sort of car you “do up” but many moons ago, I used to be a Max Power reading, Fiesta XR2 driving petrol head who’d mod all my cars to the point of embarrassment! I then had kids and lost interest in cars almost completely! 15 years down the road and I buy this Merc and its brought all the old feelings back and I couldn’t resist tinkering with it. I now look forward to my commute and can honestly say I’ll never buy any other brand of car. I love it!

Howdo. Like the wheels, not a fan of tints.

Can't tell if there are drilled discs behind those rims? If not, that's worth doing for the looks IMO.

I've done a bit of subtle modding on my preface w204, leds in sides and fogs and interior, retrofit DRLs that I think look quite OEM.

Hi and welcome

Nice looking car and you started the modding off well with de-badging.

Wheels look great, I went satin black on mine

I’m tempted to cancel the tin

I have some Brembo drilled discs ready to fit
Yours sounds lovely!
Thanks for the message

Next time you put tyres on it look at Uniroyal Rain Sport 3, epic value for money and staggeringly stable, wet performance is epic
