Indded. Having said that I can't see why it shouldn't be possible to press in a new balljoint assuming one is available in the right size (from looking at my spare front strut).

We started studying this on the forum right when I first joined. The conclusion was that pressing in a new ball joint would be entirely possible and cost around £150 a corner all told- for the 215. New balljoints are available for the 230 already and it's those that seem to wear out, not so much on the 215.

It's a front one for the W215. Indeed it was a block fitted above the upper arm.

Don't use them, don't trust them. I still have a €480 pump that failed within 3 days that they've refused to honour their warranty on.

right, reply as was typing mine. lets see if anyone had any result with them on his issue and on pump what were the grounds for refusal of warranty.

SL500 (R230)
i dont want a stripped out car either nor do i want to be stuck on the side of the road watching a french recovery vehicle tearing the bottom out of my 38,000 mile car because its arse is on the ground and his transporter ramps are not correct for the job. now i would prefer it much more if benz had thought more on that and given the girating mirror a miss . harped on about this before, i retire early next yr and i will ,if i get bored, develop my own metalastic type blocks that can be fitted in such an event, my own version of the plastic shift lock, and a permanent solution to having keyless go turning me into a form filling pedestrian ,should someone develop a decent coil over for the r230 i will investigate that too. tho i would not change abc until i was looking at replacement pump, struts ect of course i could just buy a SL350 ,but the v doz is a silky motor of note ,thats my weak spot for this delightfully styled car.
Replacing the ABC with coilovers...............
