Well Hughes looked after me, and matched another main Dealers price of £540.29
Pleased with that as it included new Spark Plugs, and the Combination Filter and the Perfume Flacon refill (errrr WTF is that !! .... I assume its some kind of inbuilt air-freshener? ... didnt even know it had one! ) and of course they use Mobil1 0W 40.
My advisories were ...
1. First Aid Kit out of date .... not paying for one of those thanks... thats what ambulances are for No?
2. Having stupidly pushed too hard (waxing her in a hurry) on one rear Parktronic sensor, its come unclipped.
Yes it still works accurately (tested with a dustbin) and is fairly securely slid into the mounting clip groove, and the clip on the bumper is solid , its just not finally "snapped in" the last 1.5 mm. So looks slightly recessed. It does seem to work accurately, as far as I can tell, but probably not so well on corners.
I would hate to pay £100s to remove a bumper; just for someone to give it a firm push! (Probably unreasonably skinflint of me).
I can just about reach it from under the bumper and push lightly ... but not hard enough to click in.
So I mentioned it to them, to see if they (without spending a load of time), could push it that last mm or two to snap it in, when it was on the ramp.
Result :-
"Technician unable to clip in one rear sensor. Requires rear bumper to be removed"
I am Pleased there nothing major wrong or "big" service-wise outstanding i.e. All up to date.
And happy with the cost.
But now need to find a way, maybe build a right angled "pusher" to snap it in.
Hmmm failing that I wonder how much time it takes to remove the rear bumper?
