Filled her up (recent new-to-me car) and entered the details into the Road Trip app that a few others use. So far very pleased with it....only 4 mpg down on previous which isn't bad for a larger engine with a larger body vehicle too.

Just noticed a a broken exhaust bracket on the rear of my E320cdi . Going to have to see if my local garage can weld it .....they have done 2 bracket repairs on the Clk .

Fingers crossed there is enough good metal for them to fix to. I've had the same done before on the previous car....it had a stainless steel body but not on the brackets.

Just dropped it off with the garage, hopefully like you say , they can squeeze a monster blob of weld on to it . He said it is something they do a lot of these days .

That is very reasonable. Some garage owners won't even purse their lips and stroke their chin for that amount!

Drove the 230 in to work for its weekly recharge and recirculate of oil. Top down of course :)

13.0oC today here, driving on the Uniroyal winters to work today, bit squirmy whilst changing direction in anything less than a sedate way.
Winter compound of course is a factor and also slight width difference on the rears (these are 255’s and my rear summers are 285’s)

The one consolation is that, despite the Daily Express' gloomy predictions, now that you've put those tractor tyres on we're practically guaranteed a mild Winter John. :D

Every year Dave! I was congratulating myself earlier in the week, first morning was 0oC when I left for work, imagine how smug I felt ?
:(
Still, give it time, and we still have the rain to contend with ....

Fitted a some new wheel bolts in place of anti theft bolts....and a new Bosch MAF sensor then off to Manchester it went like the proverbial stuff off a shovel and got a couple of more MPG in the bargain.

Replaced the gas struts on bonnet and boot, ordered up new wing-mirror indicators to replace the cracked/misted ones and also ordered a stormcover to keep out the rain/frost.

Has anyone used a kit to clean up the plastic on their headlamps, seen the 3M one but there appear to be plenty out there, some of which might be safe and do the trick.

I've used the 3M kit, but the new Meguiars headlamp kit is better. It included a sealant to keep them looking clear for longer too.

I used the 3M one on a previously owned car ...I never got the lights perfect but did make a big improvement to them

A number of people here have used this kit. It has a good rating as a result. Whatever you use though you must finish with a UV sealer or otherwise your lenses will yellow again.
