Why not just let them pass then, what's the gain in holding them up...?

Just see it as provocation to endanger yourself, the one in the rush and everyone around.
Haha, I see what you’re saying- you’ve read it the wrong way...
I’m saying I CAN go fast but don’t need to, but they CAN’T go fast but need to (or at least perceive they do)
Basically just because you have vast power on tap doesn’t mean you need to use/display it!
(I am a member of IAM so don’t worry too much - I do exactly that, let them pass and non provocative as I can be)

It's an odd thing isn't it, the availability of huge power and vast-yet-wafty torque tends to confer a slower-feeling driving style than the likes of the Chavics with their raggedy screaming little jamjar engines. One just doesn't feel the need to blast past them at anything approaching half-speed.

You know what it is John, you just don't like showing off is what ;)

I've noticed lately that when I'm out in the CLK a BMW or Audi is always bursting to get past me no matter how fast I go ,,,It doesn't seem to happen when out in wife's Mondeo
It's generally the BMW Series 3 and Audi A3 culture  I just let them go, don't give a monkeys

So far not so much, did have a Golf up my rear, well until we reached the NSL at which point Sport Mode was utilised. He caught me back up in the 30 again later mind.

If you think a Merc is bad for being an ST upyourchuff magnet, get a TVR.........

Again ..... if you want someone to drive up your church, try driving a Fortwo. EVERYONE wants to overtake you or beat you from the lights.

Yes. Worse than a Roadster ...... or is it cos there's less car behind you & it just seems like they'e closer?
:D
Could be!
I don't know why they bother with the Smarts and Roadsters - "I just blew away a 700cc shopping basket at the lights" doesn't have a lot of Kudos does it? Mind you "I just got blown away by a 700cc shopping basket" might be a tad embarrassing....;)

I suspect in that case it is because they assume it won't be going fast enough for them? It's a bit like me when I see a Micra (I imagine it is driven by Miss Daisy)...

As you know, the Roadster is best at embarrassing 'fast cars' on the twistys. You catch them up on a bend. They go faster. You catch them up on the next bend .... :D

...they go still faster, and you pass them parked in the ditch on the next bend :)

I'd rather have them in front of me so I can see what they are doing rather than waiting for the prat to run into me!

Exactly what Andy M said, I did have one of them that ran into the back of my works van as he misjudged an overtake and hit my off side with his nearside.

I have no problem with them passing without contact and revving or holding me up later.
I do have issues if they do it when I'm in a 30 limit and I'm driving at the speed limit.
Why do people get upset when a chav passes them from the lights, it's just them having the feel of power for a tiny moment, even if they have a 1 litre Punto or their mums Corsa.

My biggest gripe is people that drive at 40 in a 60 zone then continue to do 40 when they enter a 30 zone.

There's a McD's in town where the"Chavs" regularly congregate at intervals they race through town especially if they see a car that needs to be shown how much quicker theirs is.
It's happened to me at traffic lights where they get in the outside lane and rev their " Cherry Bomb" exhausts until the lights change then scream off leaving me behind with a smile on my face.
Question is where do they get their money money for the cars...I couldn't afford one at their age.

Used to have a C63...
I think the funniest one I've had to date, was a chap (I'm guessing in his 40s), in a Chrysler PT Cruiser sporting the full Halfords Appendage kit, thrashing the whatsits off his chariot up the A38.

Never really understood it... Drive because you enjoy it, but to impress others???

I drive round in a relaxed manner never even thinking of "holding some one up" or racing, I simply couldn't be bothered with the oiks.
I lost my urge for hurtling very quickly and don't want a flying machine to drive through the various speed limits worrying about speeding tickets..
Its a waste of time, bit like buying a racehorse for pulling a cart.
