If you want the same all round you'll need 8.5Jx18 rims and 245x40x18 tyres. The 265x35 won't fit the fronts, nor will the 9J rims.

Sorry Steve, as above ( been busy so couldn’t reply quickly enough!)
If you go the full 245 40 18 route I have 4 x excellent Dunlop winter tyres for sale / open to offers ...they are 255 40 18 but I’m sure they’ll work for you....

Going into Mr Tyre for a word, ive used em for 12 years (vans and cars)

Then a wheel refurb/polish place.

So i could fit 255 all round with 2 (new) 8.5 j on the rear?

I dont like odd wheels/tyres or spacesavers

Yes you could- the 255 40 would also fit on a 9.0J if you wanted to keep with that on the rears- what AM Geed was getting at was you can’t put the 9.0J on the front
This is a useful tool

Sounds like your Mr Tyre will sort you out

They will be using them for fitting, but the tyres these guys source are directly from the manufacturers or central warehouses in Germany Poland, Slovakia etc...

changing all 4 via Black Circles, the rears were a tad cheaper and i thought - as they offer "nothing topay for 6 months" id bite the bullet

got mixed on the front Triangle Sportex N/S and Contisport O/s, rears are Pirelli Pzero but 1 is damaged

i might steer clear of kerbs from now on

To quote 1 forum quote on the subject of tyres........... "a cross between Nantucket Sleighride specials and Honkywonk Ditchfinders"

Simple you bought a high performance car not a sleigh.
If we only bought tyres based on speed ratings and our usage I could probably shoe mine with wheel barrow tyres.
Foam filled of course.

You need tyres that are rated at or above the maximum speed of your car.
I'm sure you don't need the 186mph tyre but happy for someone to correct me.

The maximum speed limit on a public road in this country is 70mph but don't let that make you think we should only need tyres rated at 70mph. The speed rating is a way to match a tyre to the cars performance as well as it's top speed.

Agreed. Buying budget tyres for a taxi doesn't make sense to me either.
Its not a cheap car, why buy cheap tyres?

I'd consider a mid price tyre such as Nexen, Hankook or Falken if money is tight. All three are of decent quality compared to a ditchfinder. With respect, Mr Tyres stock or prices are not impressive at all.
