hi, need to replace battery for R129 sl500 1996.
currently have a dead Bosch S3 013 which is a 12v 90Ah
Bosch make an S3, S4, S5 version each one in theory better then the 'lesser' version.
there is not much of a cost difference between them.
would i be better of getting a S5 013? will it fit in?

would there be any benefit getting a larger battery ie 90Ah+ ?
cheers raj

The S3 is 90Ah 3 year warranty
The S4 is 95Ah 4 year warranty
The S5 is 100Ah 5 year warranty.

They are all the same size (019 form factor) so choose the one that best fits your budget and needs.....

They are very good batteries, good CCA.
Think you may be best with the S4 or S5, it's a big lump to turn over and lots of electrics in the car.

Look at carbatteries online, they have pretty good prices and deliver, or eBay suppliers.

I know this is an old post but I was searching around because it looks as though I'm in line for a new one (flat at 7pm last night - first time ever) and those prices do look quite reasonable although my wallet is screaming at me!.
- Thanks for the info!

I got mine (Yuasa) from Halfords , with my Trade Card it was cheaper than anywhere i could find online plus i picked it up so no waiting around for the delivery van , there is also the added bonus that it it goes wrong i can take it back directly rather than posting it off to the original supplier if they are still trading.

Yes, thanks, Kenny. I've got a Halfords Trade Card as well, and I forgot about them so haven't looked at their prices yet. Do you know if they'll give me the discount if I get them to fit it? From other posting I was a bit taken aback at how cheap Tayna batteries are - and they're cheaper still on EBay. But I need to check up exactly which size/number I need first. I do have a natural hatred for parting with money but a good battery can make a terrific difference. In fairness, my car is 2007 and it's the original battery and until yesterday it always started first time, every time - I think I've fallen victim to too many short journeys of late.

Stick your reg number into the Halfords website and it will show you what batteries are available for your car.

I was £100 , with discount, for the Yusaa battery for the CLS and fitted it in 20 mins.

I bought a 019 / 105 ah with a 3 year warranty, for £63.

From my fave on-line battery seller, delivered in 24 hours.

Look at GSF and enter code 'Nov55' for a 55% discount.

Also look at Eurocarparts and google any discount codes.
Got a Bosch 019 for £129 a few weeks ago with a 30% code.
