2012 C220 cdi sport (Facelift)
Hi all, I have a 2012 C220 Cdi Sport(facelift) and require the front discs and pads replacing. Car has only done 47500miles, replacing is due to corrosion only. Does anyone know the best to use and where to get them at reasonable price. Are they easy to fit with basic tools?

Regards
Vern

MB are as good as any and from Grangemouth Mercedes not much different in price to many non-genuine.
Changing is pretty straightforward.

I just put Pagid disks and pads on my W204 C350CDi, bought from ECP for £128 all in including the wear sensor, no issues at all

No longer own a Mercedes Benz
I also just ordered Brembo for the rear of my W204 and plan to fit them this weekend. Euro Car Parts had a flash 50% off sale last Thursday so I got discs and pads for just over £85 which is an absolute steal.

Many thanks do you perhaps know what the torque settings are for the caliper and caliper carrier bolts are?

Should be 115Nm for the calliper carrier to hub mount. Not sure about the slide bolts.

Does the front caliper to hub bolts require replacing when taking the calipers off to replace the front discs?
£13 for the four from dealer.

Only asking because the Haynes manual says it MUST.

The sliding pins and bolts only require cleaning and lock tight.

Haynes manual also says that Mercedes suggest no lube is placed on the pads, pins, or calipers any ideas?

I didn't replace the caliper to hub bolts, I never have in 29 years of changing brakes. Cleaned them up and put some fresh threadlocker on.

I didn't actually change the slider pins on the front but when I come to the back I might do, for the sake of a few quid. I did give them a good clean.

No lube is mental. Slider pins need some form of lube. If you gently peel back the rubber boot on the front slider pins you will see grease. The kit provides some. Do not use copper grease on parts that need to move. Use it on the back of pads to prevent seizure.

Well chuffed

I would order a new set of sliding pins for the pads.

When ours was recently replaced on our 220cdi sport with the brembo calipers, found the pins to be a nightmare to remove. Pretty much buggered em getting them out. Some good vendors on ebay sell the kits.

Can always send em back if you dont need em.
