2016 Mercedes C Class Coupe
Hi everyone,

I'm new here, so please go easy on me haha.

I'm looking into purchasing a 2016 Mercedes C Class Coupe. Obviously what Mercedes tell you about MPG is normally far off real world performance. Does anyone own a C250 or C300 and could tell me what MPG you get please? Ideally i would like a C300, but if its only going to be getting late 20's/early 30's, i may have to drop down to the C250. Thank-you all in advance!

If it's any help, I bought a C250d 4Matic Estate in July, to date it is averaging 45mpg over 4000 miles.
On long runs it easily gets 55MPG, but cold mornings in town traffic see it dip below 30mpg.

I have a C300 estate, currently getting about 45 or so average. Being winter though I would hope in summer that will go up a few MPG...

Says on MB web site the C300 only takes Super Unleaded so that is a cost consideration

Um, my C300 estate is a diesel?

It is listed as a C300 on the logbook not a C300h?

Um, my C300 estate is a diesel?

I know which is why I was confused by the web site!!!

I was speaking to a guy with a C350H on Sat and he said the ONLY reason to get one is low BIK, apart from that it is a waste of time BUT a much nicer car than the BMW 3 it replaced

I must say £10 a year is nice.... The electric motor pulling out of spaces etc is a bit odd too.. But it is also quite fast which is worth having :D (but the fuel economy is not as cited in parkers IME)

He said the MPG is shocking and only 12 miles electric range if he is lucky

Well I am getting about 47 or so at the moment as my average. The car doesn't really do much on the electric except in traffic etc and pulling away from parking etc But I do think it uses the battery for things like the headlights/stereo etc as sometimes the battery reduces despite the engine being on for example...

Still not great though is it when a 220Cdi can do over 55 and my 350CDi will do 45+ on a run

In the coupe version a c300 petrol engine is offered which is 2litre engine developing 245bhp. Its also listed as available on the cabriolet. The 300h which is a diesel hybrid is offered in the saloon and estate.
Presumably the OP was enquiring about the petrol c300.

This would explain my confusion about engines!!!!

Indeed I am not really impressed when the book value was 68 average. If I was getting 55 I would be happy.... BUT she does have a 0-60 of 6.5 seconds or so...

Same engine as my petrol SLC300 then, which driven very carefully will do 47mpg. But driving in any other way will bring it down to the 20's very easily. Usually average high 30's on a run though.
