Hi guys,
Got an S class in and the suspension on the o/s/f and rear is slightly lower , car went to a specialist and they diagnosed it as worn torsion bar bushes. Checked all the bushes on the rear and can't seem to find any play! 5286 fault code was stored(recovery time during bleeding of air suspension strut is too long)

Is it airmatic, or hydraulic ABC?

When they say worn torsion bar bushes, do they mean the anti roll bar bushes?

Check the linkage to the ride height sensor on the front wheel that is low, the bar could be seizing and bending the bracket. If its all free then re-calibrate that side on Xentry.

"recovery time during bleeding of air suspension strut is too long" Is sticky valves, or bad wiring to valve block, or the car is trying to lower a corner and its not moving (possibly because the level sensor is broken).

That's what I couldn't understand, but mercedes seem to call the anti roll bar a torsion bar. Thanks for your input I will check the sensors! regards

on the w221 airmatic

the front left and front right ride height, is independently adjustable and the rear is linked side to side. So you balance side to side via the front and front to rear via the back.

buy a new relay and the 40 amp fuse, then see where you are. They both sit in the front SAM under the bonnet and should come in somewhere around 25 quid. I suspect mine popped its fuse without showing any errors for some 6 months.

When I had a new pump at 52k miles another customer came in and said he's on his third S class and had 3 pumps under warranty on one of them.
