I found a local merc specalists who will do oil and filter and air filters for £174 all in

Told them it was due a service but i didnt want the fuel filter or cabin filter changed and thats the price they came back with? Presumably they will reset the service inidcator with star machine and just stamp the book

Interestingly when I was looking 18 months ago there wasnt a Haynes for the W204. Now there is. And I've just ordered one. Even if I don't use it that much I still like reading them.
Always worth having around for torque settings and fluid quantities as an easy look up guide . I always get one each time I buy a car .

Me too. I like to read them.(sad I know). There wasn't one for my last car (P12 Primera), I was so unhappy, even though I managed to find an online manual.:confused:

I think I'd have had more issues having a Primera than not having a Haynes manual :D

It was actually a very good car. The last version off the line before they decided to make pretend offroaders as their top salon car. I got it as an exdemo, very cheap, as they wern't making any so what was the point of a demo? I would have prefered a merc, but the thought didn't even cross my mind, as a new C Class was about £18 000 more than I paid for it. Did 125 000 miles in it and gave it away for £400 towards my W203. I'd really looked after it and it was like new, except the 2.2 tdi engine sounded like a traction engine.

i generaly buy my cars at or near to first mot, then i service myself, i think most comming to look at a car over 5 yr old go on condition. and a dealer aint going to give you a better deal as yrs will likely get ringed especialy if traded against a new car, not going to happen to me. i changed my abc oil and filter in14 and engine oil and filter to mobil in 14 as well ,must check but dont think i have done 4k miles since . it will all get done again this summer , i never allow the oils to get dirty , only Q is to change brake fliud as i might take the car to NICE this summer .
