We helped this customer with his Mercedes E63 AMG

it made 717ft-lbs & 571bhp at the wheels.

equates to 843.52ft-lbs / 1143nm & 671bhp at the flywheel.

the car was making more power with each run so we will expect more once the further adaptations have taken place!!

the car has had the primary cats gutted, set of panel filters and stage 2 software to suit, also with aftermarket downpipes we would expect more power and torque!!

thanks to JM-Imports for their great dyno facilities.

They have no dyno though to check their claims...

Sorry you are right but only down there!
Sorry to hijack Gads post but MSL have the dyno and the skills - took mine to 684 bhp and 835lb ft torque with a stage 1 remap and nothing else yet...

Your power gains are mental, almost 700bhp
There cannot be many cars that can touch this, even the new 4.0 Bi turbo's.

You could get a lot more out of it were you inclined John. But close to 700bhp in the family saloon should suffice;)

Must be one of the most power saloon cars out there that also drives perfectly well. I know there are a few Audi's that have been modified, but I know which I would want.

Indeed Roger, as you say quite sufficient for a family saloon- Acid backs off a little nowadays too by the way, if he’d pushed it on the dyno we’d have been over 700 already.
It’s the torque though- used with enough road it’ll make you feel a bit sick as your internal organs try to escape through your back!

As an FYI my 212 currently has a Celtic map, I can say it’s pretty good, was done at one of their dyno days I believe so I’d say perfectly possible to build their own maps. That said mine will go and spend some time on the dyno at MSL at some point, just to move the power around a bit.

I wonder how much that power effects day to day driving? Impressive figures.
One member on the other forum has squeezed 906bhp and 900ftlb out of his CLS63 Biturbo with more to come.

A lot of these put down big numbers but always in 4th gear plus. They still haven;t cracked tq limiters in the 7g MCT box (well over here or in the US at least, I think GAD germany have).

As a result, they put but numbers down on the dyno, but their 1/4 mile times don't match up with the power they are making, due to torque limiting on lower gears.

Very impressive numbers, but not sure I would want to give away that low rpm torque shove and shift it 2k rpm higher.

Ok, I see, so in some ways it's as much about "how much can we gain on the dyno" rather than real world speed. If you had the lower tq levels would the components give up? Or would you lose any usable traction?

Yes and No, whilst the cars limit the power in the lower gears, dyno runs tend to be run in 3rd or 4th. This platform will show higher numbers in 4th, but the cars will be faster overall, due to higher power up high. Its just the limitation of torque that means real world numbers don't match up with the dyno figures.

As the torque managment, especially of the 4WD AMG's which we have only just started getting, meaning hard launches etc are difficult. This costs big times on the 1/4 mile and it all adds up.

Long story short, I'm sure the car still drives like a 700+ bhp car up top in the rev range and in higher gears, but 1-2-3 probably are less dramatic.

Yip get that
I did 3 x timed runs (super scientific colleague with an iPhone timer) 0-60 on the industrial estate I’m on (private) and averaged 3.4s after MSLs stage 1 remap
All very good until I remembered I hadn’t done the same before the remap to compare- doh! So maybe it was the same or less before even. Paper figure iirc is 3.6 or 3.7
That said it was just a bit of fun, the higher gear and kick down mid range is what I like to feel rather than a ‘race off the lights’
Finding somewhere to do the quarter mile run isn’t too easy either probably :)
