Hi there,

Does anyone know of a good high quality aftermarket vendor for interior trim parts. I have a 2017 W213 E63 S and I’d really like to change the (already scratched) gloss black interior trim bits with carbon. I purchased the car ex-demo so I didn’t have the choice!

Many thanks

Two options here

1/ polish out the scratches

2/ have the trim’s wrapped in Carbon vinyl

Missed this, sorry!
GLK (David) on here has had many parts on his car done (I believe) with hydro dipping to give a carbon look which is considerably cheaper than the alternative of stripping out everything and replacing with carbon

Just in case somebody needs/wants lacquer piano center console protected.
Black Lacquer piano looks nice but I just found it showing dust and prone to get scratched especially. On Ebay I came across a plastic cover with a carbon fiber imitation that sticks on top of center console. It looked good on ebay photos and have purchased it. Its £44 delivered from china. its cheap and I was very skeptical whether I made a right choice getting cheap from china and had doubts that it would fit and how it will look in reality. it took 2 weeks to arrive and another week to find time to fit it. The carbon fiber pattern is just similar to real carbon and is painted over the plastic then covered by lacquer layer on top. At first I just stuck it on the top and it looked that it should fit ok. It sticks on top with double sided tape that is pre-applied on the underside of the plastic. it took me 5-10 min and It was on, although I did not use a heat gun as advised. It was not 100% fit and there were few spots where gap on top is 0.5 - 1mm bigger than on the bottom but I would say 98% and the result was acceptable. It looks good and it does complement the metal weave trim I have in my s213. The smallest dust and fingerprints are not that visible. I know that it is hit and miss with things that are cheap and are made in china. I was lucky this time.
Now how easy will it be to take it off, is a question I don't know the answer(yet?). I guess heat gun will be needed to heat up the cover and soften the double sided sticky tape under it. Other trouble may be removing the sticky tape residue left on the original trim. How to get rid of it without scratching the lacquered center console is another question. At the moment I don't see why i would want it removed but it is another thing to consider if somebody will be looking to get one. It is called Carbon Fiber Gear Shift Cover For Mercedes E-Class W213 S213 and I think they do more trim covers but this one was I needed the most.

Good morning,
Do you have any images of the dash after you fitted the cover?
I have been thinking to do the same and found some real carbon versions of the above but was also unsure about sticking directly on top.
If you had some pictures, that would be great.
Thanks
