W204 Window Strips lacquer peeled off

Hi folks,

On our W204/2010, the window strips are black, and after a recent je wash the lacquer has peeled off and they look a frigging mess.

How can I sort these out or at least make them look half-decent?

Yes I agree I'm not sure any version is offered with black trim strips so it's quite possible somebody has painted them in the past.

Yes I agree I'm not sure any version is offered with black trim strips so it's quite possible somebody has painted them in the past.
They are not painted, they are standard shiny black. Its an Executive SE model, so doesnt have the chrome on the along the window line, but has shiny black....

How easy are these to actually replace? Im thinking of getting some Chorme ones from a scrapper or ebay?

My 2011 204 estate is the same I dont know if they were painted then lacquered or just lacquered. I think just lacquered. john

You have to access them from inside the door so you have to strip the door cards etc off, total pain

Ah, sounds like it. Ill have to look at another remediation plan.

I would like to wrap mine, but getting under the mirror is a pain.

Once the mirror comes off, it looks like they just come away without having to remove door cards ??!

Wonder how easily they would clip back in to that channel!?
