E220 BlueTEC Late 2015 - OM651.924
Hey guys, I'm pretty new here and I don't know why I haven't made an account earlier but here goes.

My 212 E220 BlueTEC feels great to drive (and punch) around town, however I'm frequently on the motorway for extended periods of time, so it tends to feel quite lethargic if i floor it to 80MPH or slightly higher ;)

My question is, since the E220 and E250 have the same 651.924 engines, could I not just get an E250's ECU and replace my current one along with a new key+ignition barrel? Or is it smarter than that?

I could also probably just get it remapped, Celtic Tuning are claiming they can get this up to 215bhp from 174 and 363lb/ft of torque from 295. Does anyone have any experience with Celtic?

I have used Celtic running on my w211 e320 CDI, I spent a little time on a Dyno with them and they got mine making just shy of 300bhp. They where very good and were good about not pushing the engine to far. Their standard remaps are pretty good.

I would defiantly go for the remap over trying to swap ECUs ect. It's not worth the hassle nor the expense.

The 220 and 250 aren't actually the same engine, the 250 has a bigger turbo, injectors and manifold iirc, your certainly best to look at a remap and Celtic are good, my current car was mapped by them

There aren't really any down sides as long as the map is a good one and the cars been serviced, if not then all sorts, transmission problems, over heating, turbos going bad, etc.

What are the down sides/risks of remapping? I have a E250?
Just an FYI the 250 isn't the easiest car to map, lots of problems with limp mode. I'm told those issues are mostly sorted but I think still a few cars that cause niggly problems and get returned back to standard. That said any reputable tuner woul hold your existing map until you're happy, if not they will try to sort problems and if they can't be resolve return back to standard
