sorry if this has been done .
Got front wheels balanced today and
only noticed when I came home the weights are on inside of rim but out near front face. Not very pretty looking , can these not be placed
Near back of rim where you can’t notice them.

You can on occasion get a tyre fitter to fit weights behind spokes but you'll need more weights and it's a ball a he for the fitter to get right.

There are behind spokes but very visible , even if they were a few inches further back.

they are on my 216 and 221 pal , its unsightly but if that where the machine says they need extra weight to balance the wheel out then that where they must go but by all means take it back and see if they can get it to balance with the weights closer to the centre of the alloy

I had a new pair of rear tyres fitted recently and I asked the fitter to put them on the inside or back of the rims which he happily did. The wheels were balanced perfectly. Wheel weights out of sight. :)

Sounds like a spot on job.
Weights are necessary unfortunately, best you can do is paint them to be a close match to the colour of the alloy wheel.

You can ask the fitter to put the weights at the back or ask for them to be positioned directly behind a spoke to hide them. As said it does take more time to get it right but looks so much better.

I think where they were needed it would be hard to get behind spoke as they are only 5 spoke wheels.
that would have worked ok on a multi
Spoke.

You just need heavier weights. I guess success depends on how badly out of balance the wheels are to start with.

Yes it held 5 on outside 2 at rear.
Pity it couldn’t been done 2 1/2 to 1
But I guess it doesn’t work like that

Correct it doesn't. Your correcting weight mismatch on the diametrically opposite side of the wheel not inside to outside.

Sometimes judicious use of a hammer and cold chisel can yield good results.
Failing that since you're replacing the disc a Dremel cutting tool or angle grinder can cut a slot across the head for a screwdriver.

An impact wrench can be very good for removing the grub screws

Just to say why ,when you buy a pair
of vented disc are they not handed
ie vents face into air flow on both disc
Or is it only on the very most expensive they come like that.
