That is so much better, this is only my opinion but I do like to see a bit of chrome though :)

I assume the trims are just stuck on and removing is simple?
They are just stuck on, removing is simple'ish, i warmed the trim with a heat gun, then got some fishing line and sort off cheese cut behind the trim,
warming the trim as you go along, that's the easy bit.
You are then left with the two sided tape still on the car, i sprayed it with WD40 let It soak for about 10 mins
then got an old credit/store
card and scraped the tape off, it's time consuming but it works, and doesn't scratch the car, you are then left with just the glue ,
you can use WD40 again but I found petrol works better, then a good polish to finish off, sounds a bit long winded but it does work.

Looks much better, I don't see the need to stick fake chrome on cars
I think the chrome trim was original - certainly had it on my C207
