My 221 drivers seat has recently started to move fractionally when there is forward or backward force on it. Its minimal, almost a click back and forward, but sometimes noticeable.

I have had a quick look under the seat whilst trying to rock the seat base back and forward. I can see that something under there is giving a little play to allow this. Has this problem happened to anyone else? What was the remedy? I have read about a new seat rail, but was wondering if something could be packed, or tightened?

Many thanks

I would check all the bolts for tightness first

Hi dannyfiveforty. I have exactly the same problem in my 2010 E350. A slight click on acceleration and braking. Not noticeable if I brake very gently, or drive away gently, and not noticeable if I brace my left leg on the floor and push back in the seat whilst braking or accelerating.
Had it in to an Indy who said that it needed new bushes (not eaxactly sure where). They fitted new ones, but it made no difference, and I think possibly made it worse. When I spoke to the dealer he said that he thought the metal in the frame might have twisted, and that was what was causing the problem, but my instinct tells me that it's something else.
I've tried tightening those bolts that I can access without removing the seat, and the four main ones that secure the seat frame to the runners are rock solidly tight. I can feel, however, slight movement where the seat meets those brackets when I rock the seat to emulate acceleration and braking.
I've tried to undo those bolts to see if I can somehow pack them out, but I can't shift them. Maybe it would be easier with the seat out, but I don't fancy doing that!
Sorry I can't offer a solution, but it's sometimes better knowing that you're not the only one with the problem! Hopefully someone will post a definitive solution?
