anyone know where i can get,at a reasonable price a set of rear brake back plates for the rear disc brakes i have all the other parts to convert but back plates are not great and i would prefer to change them, tho not at 60 quid each ...sods law mine seem the dearest avail !!!!

For what they do, just derust them and put a few coats of Hammerite paint.
Can we see how bad they are.

Rear disc conversion? I have the same problem with the price of new backplates. W169 backplates are a fraction of the price.

yup just looked but 169 is much different to 168 and yup i am converting to rear disc. difference in fitting so far seems to be left and right handbrake cable.which are still serviceable from the Donner car the back plates are not.. best price seen to date is around 60. i can just clean and put back tho one has small holes . i prefer to replace as to do it later involves removing everything again
