1997 W210 seized foot/park brake

My brother in law has my old e230 W210, recently driven through flooded areas up to covering lower tyres! now he finds pushing down the parkbrake very stiff and getting worse, just using park on gearbox until fix! are there any points that can be lubricated along the cable routes and if so where any help & ideas! very much appreciated.

its more likely the shoes that are seized pal not the cable , strip them off and make sure everything is working before looking at anything else

its not the shoes you can get the brake off and on the car rolls freely no binding! just seized cable i now believe there is an access panel under the rear seat to get at them so will have a look !
