Hi Guys,

Looking for a bit of advice, I'm looking at buying an 2014 E300 diesel hybrid but unsure if there is anything I should look out for on these. I've read a few mixed reviews some good and some bad.
Please help.

Hello and welcome

It’s a bold move...

Although I’ve seen a couple as taxis recently. Wonder how they’re getting on...

If you are paying the bills don’t do it, as above a lot can and has gone wrong with that generation of car

I'm told that a replacement battery can be cripplingly expensive but it's been pretty much what I hoped for so far.

I had a 2014 E300 Hybrid on lease for couple of years and loved it, during that time I had no hybrid issues but John Laidlaw on here did have one which caused him a probl3m.

Quite a fast powerful car considering it’s a 2.1 diesel.

I would think owning one out of warranty could be expensive as they are apparently quite expensive and in need of specialist repairs if hybrid goes wrong.

I think the comments sum it up - lovely cars but horrendously expensive if something goes wrong.

Oh dear, where to begin...
Have a search for my tale of woe but to summarise...
15 months after delivery had what started as a gearbox issue which unfortunately ( as the electric motor is attached to the transmission in these) led to a hybrid failure which led to the car being in the dealership, well...never saw it again! (Was in a 2 year lease)
Supremely smooth when it was running though
I would just not consider one as a private buy to be honest
Some as mentioned have had better experiences though
