Hi
I have a continuous electrical issue with my car and wondered if anyone can help?
The Bat/Alt light started coming on infrequently initially with no running issues. Then various other problems crept in - ABS light, TCS light, Light sensor warning, Lights dimming, radio turning off, stuck in gear etc. Then it runs fine for a while before it all starts again. The car has had the following, none of which has resolved the situation.
3 alternators! It now has the correct Bosch one
New battery
Replacement front SAM unit
The Alt intermittently seems not to charge on tick over if there is a load (Aircon, lights etc).
I have a brilliant independent specialist who is not charging me for the work he is doing and he is coming to the conclusion that it is an ECU problem. The diagnostic says that the current is spiking with an alt feed problem, but we can't find it.
The ECU cost will hardly be worth the value of the car, but I love it...
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Rick
