Will check the part numbers when home. Seems a cheaper option than the fuel filter.My W215 CL500 had a similar issue and I changed the MAF and it is completely sorted now.
The engine ran well most of the time without any roughness but when cold would sometimes just cut out.
Turns out the Ford Ranger MAF is the same Bosch part number as the MAF on mine. Bought one for fault finding for £17 and problem solved.

If the MAF was faulty would it show up on the code reader? The indi said no faults were found.
