If you are not using it turn it off unless the newer ones have an auto cut off, they used to burn motors out

I didn't get a chance to try it out. BBQ got in the way. Nom nom!

A lot of the lances are made in the same place anyway. I use HDD for all my stuff and use Angelwax fast foam. Magifoam is aweful for clogging the lances up and for staining light coloured drives

The important thing with Snow Foam is that you buy ph neutral foam.

Much of the cheaper products are based on TFR ('truck wash') which is a degreaser and removes your carefully applied wax and the colour out of your paint (and driveway). This is why white trucks look clean but have dull, oxidised paint.

Also try to work out the dilution ratios as the seemingly best value 5L jerrycan is most likely already partly pre-diluted for you and you're paying to ship mostly water about.

I use this stuff: ph neutral, concentrated, 20:1 dilution ratio so even the 500ml bottle makes 20L of foam.

Note their lances are £29.99 too.

^ I bought both above which arrived mid last week. I gave them their first outing yesterday and happy days, all worked well. The foam stated 50ml to 1 litre, so 20:1 indeed. The foam was ok, not too much stuck but then again my car was detailed and has a Glass ceramic Kamikaze coat so not much is going to stick I guess!
Thoroughly recommend the lance which I used on the Karcher K4 I have, and the snow foam is going to last a long time....

Is there another way to go about this , without the use of a karcher etc I dont have one at hand . I never would use a karcher on a car anyway .

There are several foam spray devices for fitting directly to a hose rather than a pressure wash - like this for example.

Why not use a Karcher on a car? I find mine invaluable for heavy grime removal, particularly on suspension parts and in the wheel arches. In my experience most pressure washers seem to be permanently set on maximum velocity, which is quite unnecessary for most tasks. The Karcher standard lance is very easily adjustable from a light spray to full power.

I certainly use my Karcher on the car- my detailer does too, can't see what harm it will do if it's controlled?
It loosens the dirt better than a standard hose for sure...

Using a pressure washer to blast the dirt off a car with high pressure water is very difference to using it to cover it with foam, which you do from a greater distance anyway.

Foaming wont hurt any car, I have been known to do it on a Ferrari convertible...

Slight thread hijack (sorry in advance)...what do you chaps think of the Pro Kleen Snow Foams? Any good?

I've seen some of the cherry, orange, apple variety gallon bottles on ebay and amazon for around £20 for 2 gallons which seems uber cheap. Are they the harsh ones and would you avoid in favour of ones that claim to be pH neutral?

It suggests a 1:1 dilution ratio so this stuff is going to be expensive to use as its not concentrated like the one I use, above, which is 20:1 dilution.
So you're paying for a lot of water to be shipped around. Cant tell if its ph neutral though.
10 litres of foam makes 20 litres on the car for £20, the RG product makes 20 litres on the car for £4.99.

Thanks I'd totally missed the point re: dilution. I've contacted the seller on ebay and he confirms 50:50 or 1:1 dilution as you said.
