BMW announce Quad Turbo M550 Diesel

I know there will be naysayers and badge snobs on here. But having been in some of the new BMW 5 Series i can safely say this car will be on my radar in a couple of years.

4.4s 0-60 and limited to 155mph. Oh and 38mpg.

This is all from the factory. Imagine what a remap will do with that!

Great car and interestingly BMW as other manufacturers don't imply that diesel is obsolete.

Never bought into the BMW Vs Merc, or ford Vs vauxhall for that matter. If a cars good, it's good.

There was nothing faulty about them I do assure you, they worked perfectly on the four sorties of yesterday, some on danger-close as well.

One of the chaps in my previous job had a mapped 535d!

Safe to say not much could keep with it.

also not one for badge snobbery, always liked the BMW but just never quite felt the interior of them was right for me, felt a little too sterile? the engine might just sway me back that way in the future though

I know what you mean, the Audi IMO is the same. You know its all beautifully put together, probably better than Mercedes if I'm honest but just.....

S'right John. Many Audi (and VW) miles under my belt, all lovely, and all blown away by my current fleet in every facet of detail. Can't compare to BMW though as no experience beyond a 116i which was just blechhh

My only personal BMW experience was an 840Ci I had, that was all right, made my last two cars look economical though!!
