Yesterday washed it, drove it with the top down, all windows down and windbreak down....Doesn't get better than that.
Drove it early hours this morning 13.5 degrees what's that's about

Replaced the pollen filters on the R350, not to bad to take the glove box out to get to them, but a bit awkward to get it all back in and aligned correctly, the first time the glove box wouldn't close but it was worth changing as so much more air seems to be getting through compared to the filthy originals.

1999 CLK430, 2007 VITO 3.0V6 , W124's (1994 320TE , 1993 220TE ) , 07 2.5 X-Type
Handbrake adjustment on the VITO .... because the boat was playing up ........... and after fixing the misfire ( look at this distributor ! marinised 5.7 Chevy V8 it was popping and misfiring no wonder!)

it then started taking on water with the bilge pump working overtime ......not good when its left in the water! so it had to be hauled out when on the slipway it felt that although the handbrake was on it felt like it was holding on the "Park " Drive spline mechanism ,as when released back into drive there was quite a clunk so I decided that putting the boat on and possibly having to halt with 1.8tons of boat pulling backwards was not a good idea so mate with a Disco pulled it out I removed the leaky bit ( RH muffler cracked below water line possibly from a backfire pressure wave ) and took it all home to fix it
Jacked up the VITO, wheels off, and wheres the cog .... I almost thought it wasnt there.............. its like peering into a black hole and torch beam doesnt seem as bright on a sunny day . I rotated the wheel at least twice before finding it, ratcheted it round to bind then backed off then same on the other side, except the ratchet had seized :-( so Disc drum off , unseize and grease up , then same adjustment again back to the handbrake and still a lot of travel :( ........... so underneath and unseize the cable adjustment mechanism and tighten it so now the handbrake should be good to hold 1.8 tons on the slipway , park splines arent designed for that kind of loading so back tomorrow or saturday to dunk it back in the water again :)

I also discovered that the 18" wheels on the VITO that i though were replicas are Brabus stamped :)

Today I averaged 61.6mpg while holding 89mph through the northern part of France; 3/4 tank got me home.

Needless to say I wasn't driving a daughter of Sindelfingen.

Cleaned out the left rear caliper, cleaned slider pins, greased pins with Certek and coppa slipped the back of pads and all caliper supprt arm contact points.
No brake squeal and got rid of the horrible clack noise when you touch the brakes at low speed.

Phoned my dealer, a bit disapointed to hear that the rear hub replacement didn't include greasing the slider pins on that side; as the Caliper can come off in one go :-/ (and as they slid smoothly no action taken ).
As its a warm nice day ... might do that one as all the rest have been done.

Sorted how to access the lower rear Caliper pin ( ground down the 7mm Hex Socket by 2mm :) ) and ordered a 2" wobble bar hoping that allows me to remove the big 18mm bottom caliper to suspension arm bolt.

Drove it down to Cornwall for a few days. Hotel car park has a nice selection of Mercs in it so other discerning guests here (hopefully!)

Washed it after last week's trip to Italy ... well, the A200 only made it to the Stansted car park, but still :)
