New Mercedes owner

Hi folks.
Finally got myself a used Mercedes yesterday, after weeks of agonizing over what to get to replace the Jaguar S Type that blew up on me after the DPF filter blocked and killed the engine thanks to a dodgy repair by a previous owner (the idiot backed the headers off to release the extra pressure, rather than sort the DPF out. Eventually, the backed off headers blocked as well..... BANG!)
Got myself a beautiful C230 Avantgarde 2.5 petrol automatic on an 06 plate with a genuine 44k on the clock and FSH (part MB, part indy).
Looking forward to many years of happy motoring in my Merc!

Absolutely loving the car - Apart from the £520 pa tax. Trust me to find the dearest!
Just need to sort out how to get the thing to talk to my phone and job's a good 'un.

Hi Dave and welcome . Has the car had the gearbox ATF and filter change at 37,500 miles according to its service history ? If not , it's worth doing .

Looking at the history, it hasn't. Last major service was in January this year at 40696 miles - Oil changed. oil, air and pollen filters changed, brake fluid changed.
other bits and bobs done as well - £635.44

So it looks like I'll be getting the ATF sorted pretty soon.

Back left of the engine bay as you face the engine is a dipstick tube with a black cap on it , if the tab in the middle of the tube is still black then it hasn't been changed .
An Indy is probably £200-250 £
