Hi all. I picked up a new to me 2006 w203 180k last week. I wasnt shopping for a Merc at the time and had planned on an Audi or BMW 3 something....

Anyhow, by chance i stumbled across the C class, only having 41k on the clock made me look at it twice..... it feels like a new car to drive, no wear inside at all, 9.5 outside, an extremely clean car for its age.

What i have noticed are the wheels on my Merc are perhaps out of place, there in very good condition with no kerb marks at all. Its just that they are different to all the other w203's ive seen? I see these cars all over now im driving one (always happens) but they all have different wheels to mine.

Does anyone know what there off? Or were they some sort of a "option" when purchased new?

Thanks in advance View attachment 38258
Look a little like 90's Alpina replicas to me, I quite like them actually...

Width difference front to rear is usualy only for the Estate, I think. Your 180 should be same all round.
All the 203 saloons I've owned have had same wheels all round. Only my 203 Estate had staggered widths front to rear.

Makes for a wider Ebay choice!

My 200 kompressor elegance has 225/45 17's on the front and 245/40 17's on the back.

My C 203 2005 Saloon has staggered wheels from factory and is a Advangarde SE with sports kit.
They are 17" ADHARAZ,
In fact I have a set of wheels for sale
Similar to eBay first post.
£350 plus carriage has had recent new rear tyres
Fronts could do with being replaced soon (Still Legal)
I've gone to 18 AMG MultiSpokes

I can send photos if interested

Isn't Rob Parker (Three Pointed Parts), member on here, advertising W203 wheels?

They certainly look to be the same as on my 2006 W(C)203.

203's use 12mm bolts, 204's use 14mm, you can fit 204 wheels to a 203 using adapter bolts available from www.alloywheeldirect.net, but you cannot fit 203 wheels to a 204 (guess how I know!!).

Just to expand on this...

The 203 uses M12 bots with an R12 radius head. The 204 uses M14 bolts with an R14 radius head.
You cannot safely use M12 bolts with an R12 head on a wheel designed for M14 bolts and R14 head.

The alloywheeldirect.net link above provide M12 R14 bolts to allow the later wheel to fit and these are perfectly safe.

As an aside the W210 (E class) also uses M12/R12 wheels but the 211 uses M14/R14 wheels

Thankyou Alastair, that's the most comprehensive and informative post I've seen on this subject, I did not know the radius was different just that the bolt size was. I had a set of winter wheels for my 203, found I could not fit them to the 204 I swopped to about 4 years ago, so had to sell them (bought brand new from MB Ashford, used for about 4 months, lost "a few" quid there!!) and buy a replacement second hand set.
