Has anyone ever replaced the hid xenon bulbs in a w211 facelift? I have had a half hearted attempt today but gave up after ripping my hands and arms to shreds, Thinking it may need headlight removal which i think means bumper removal....Seem like a lot of work for a couple of bulbs tho`

Any thoughts or ideas anyone??

I`ve watched the you tube videos but non actually go into too much detail, the video above doesn`t show the guy plugging the lead back into the bulb which is the hard part as there is barely enough room for 1 hand and you can`t actually see anything once you get your hand in. If anyone can find a youtube video which actually shows this then please share it

They are a pain to do on the 211, you really have to plug the lead in after getting the bulb in and ballast on, only then can you fit the lead, as you’ve found the room is small and a bit of a pain to do anything in,

Thanks Matty, I actually managed it, but near side works only when it wants so will have to look at it again. I also decided to change all the other bulbs, indicators were a pain but are now ok, main beam are done but not sure these are seated correctly and I`ve no idea how to change the 501`s....

They’re a pain and you need triple jointed wrists but no need to remove the headlamp units. Lamp out, lamp in, locking ring on, connector on. Job jobbed.
