I recently visited a mercedes dealer and a local independent for the engine light that came on my 2013 E300 Hybrid. The independant gave me 2 fault codes regarding my transmission which were P060C00 (internal control unit fault) and P087000 (oil pressure sensor switch C fault). I was advised to change the Gearbox ECU only.

After I took it to Mercedes who have given me the same fault codes but have told me I need to change the valve body and Ecu which costs significantly more.

Anyone here can help me please?

Thank you for your time.

^ this..be hopeful it’s not Hybrid related as the electric drive is in front of the gearbox

Our local dealer is in the habit of changing the whole valve body instead of just tcu.

I see... the fault codes state an electrical fault. Shouldn't this mean it is more related to the TCU rather then the valve body?

Yes indeed- what Ian is saying is that his local MB will change out the whole thing probably uneccesarily - you can draw your own conclusions why...

your picture shows some interesting stuff... the hybrid ones are very fragile and hugely expensive to keep on the road.

The first one I saw was its running the wrong software... (the coding of the control unit is incorrect). the next one on the speed sensor in the VGS is a very common gearbox fault on all 7G vehicles.... two sensor dies on the "electroplate" if its always there and playing up, it needs a new part (£800 fitted if you get a deal)

All of which points to needing a session with a garage that can and will do software updates... trouble is on a hybrid could be lots of updates needed and as they made them fragile expect other modules to give up... so an independent will either need you to sign life away and keep fingers crossed or a main dealer but could be £5k gone before you get it back working correctly....
