I’m starting to hanker after an E400 Coupe once I return to Blighty in a couple of years. That or an S400 if I can find one in the UK.

Won’t need an Estate anymore as kids will be old enough not to need 18 changes of clothes per day and we don’t have the dogs anymore (had to re-home them up before we moved).

The wife likes the look of the E Cab but I’m not so sure. I much prefer the coupe.

E400 seems a good one to go for.

I'm in agreement Carl, once those windows and roof are open in the summer it's very cab like anyway - without the mechanical issues of a retractable roof to worry about
The 400 would be blinding!

I'm thinking of a e350 , I think the e400 may be a bit juicy. So what are the problems?

I've got a 2011 E350 cab but , touch wood , not seen anything wrong so far ..had it 2 years now ... roof works well enough ... no issues there ... had a slight water ingress problem solved by drilling out a bung at the bottom of the sill so water drains properly. Other minor issue was a dodgy engine temp sensor but other than that faultless

It would appear that there where some changes around 14/15 are they worth worrying about?

Having previously owned an E350 (good engine!) I now have an E400
Fantastic performance from the bi-turbo engine!
Makes me smile on a daily basis!!!

I have the E350 Cab 2014.
Its done 28k miles now and I would not swap it for anything.
Had no trouble with the roof or water ingress and it is very economical for a large car.

a friend of mine got an e cab on a 14 MY , last year , beautiful looking car in and out , I was however disappointed with the niggly ride quality and the interior lacks a quality feel imo

Empty garage, awaiting new toy :)
Alternatively.............

The A5 S Line 3.0 Quattro is superb build and drive.

But its an Audi and some cliques come with the badge.

I've owned the E350 cab on a 2012 and a 3.0 A5 S Line cab 2013 (just sold to neighbour).

Audi superior in the drive department but lacks in the fiddly MMI
Compared to Comand and the cockpit department in the Merc is nicer on the eye.

Service costs approx the same but the Maf sensor is horrendously expensive
on the Merc where Audi are a bit cheaper on such engine sensors and auxiliaries.

IMHO

I’ve the E350 Coupe ‘63 plate, remapped, not seen any issues or read about anything specific. I chose a Coupe ‘cos on the afternoon the sun came out last year, I was in the pub...;):D
