Feel free.

I had wrap, fitted by a professional (I was there) - for a few weeks / months it was fine, but then the sun came out & lots of little bubbles appeared.

I've been in touch with my local MB dealer to price the parts. Each panel is £56 plus vat and there's an extra charge of £2.40 for the bolts that hold it in place. Total £137.28. They failed to tell me how much they'll charge to fit the panels. I'll call tomorrow to find out. I'm definitely going to try cleaning first (bar-keepers friend or something) but if as expected it doesn't work, I'll be buying the new replacements. One way or another the grot will be removed!

Can you not get them painted ? How much would it cost?

Is this the same panel they fit either side to cars with the Panoramic Roof?

There are no bolts, so unsure now what they have quoted.

I don't have the luxury of a pan roof, so I don't know Andy.

David, I've no idea how the panels are attached to the car - but like you, I'm not sure how bolts may be needed. I only know they're £2.40 plus VAT

I have. I had an SL 2004 - I got them off mine. No £2.40 bolts.

There are about 5 ridges of plastic which break a bit, but that's it.

No problem, I was just curious, as mine was replaced under warranty, and the finish looks similar.

Well, as everyone advised, cleaning was a fruitless exercise. I will have replacement parts fitted soon. Those windows are the only eyesore on the car, so I won't just live with it. Does anyone know how they are attached to the car?
