E350 - lowered suspension and pimped up wheels; all standard "sport package"
Uncomfortable on country lanes, wheel metal protrudes outside the wheel rubber = constant curbing and the chin is prone to being hit by super-market parking bays. In essense a liability. So; can the suspension be raised and "standard" wheels fitted? Or is the answer to PX with an ML or GL - both of which seem to commant a much higher value?
Ideas ... please!!

Is yours sport or avantguard trim, if sport then you’ve got the option to fit avantguard suspension and change the wheels for 18”s for a better ride.

Thank you V6! Any idea of the cost? Is the Avantgarde suspension compatible with the Sports Pack airsprings on the rear?

Is this callum??

Learn to drive such that you don't kerb the wheels? Dig up those supermarket car park bays so as you don't drive into them with the chin?

The 'sport' models are renown for being harsh rides. Did you not research before buying it?

You can get tyres with the bead to prevent kerbing damage, but you're probably beyond that if you are constantly kerbing it. A ML or GL will likely have similar issues with wheels/tyres.

Perhaps a tractor?? :rolleyes::D:D

or a newer model with the 360 camera so you can manoeuvre without hitting kerbs? :alien:

212 Sport suspension sits about 20mm lower than Avantgarde and runs on 18in wheels, Avantgarde runs on 17in wheels so quite an expensive conversion to raise the ride height

Easy enough to find a set of 17in Avantgarde wheels on eBay and changing the front springs will lift the car 20mm but not sure about how to reset the rear air suspension to increase the ride height to match, you will need to talk to MB or a specialist on this

It is not the wheels fault they get hit on Kerbs!!!

I'm imagining it being an E class estate pimped out like this little beauty.
Who wouldn't want a car like this ;)

That is EXACTLY how I see our E320.

Not quite what I had in mind for my E class, however I do like the idea of the four “curry hooks” !!!!.

External to keep the smell out of the car, protected from the elements, kept warm and difficult for someone short to pinch when at traffic lights.

You actually need to just swap the front springs and shock absorbers to avantguard ones, the rear will need to be adjusted on a rig which some Indy’s have to match the new ride height, cost wise I’m not sure but probably not much change from £1k

Yes and no at that age Craig, they actually still did elegance, avantguard and sport. If you really want you can buy avantguard now, just a special order from the factory, finding a dealer that will actually place the order though is another question lol.

I've got a saloon E350 Sport, and yes the ride is a bit jiggly, but check the tyre pressures, as if they inflated for max speed/load it will make it more jiggly.

Also the Conti tyres have rim protection, which does help. I've just changed my rears for P Zeros and they have virtually no rim protection.

Although after 6 years no kerbing yet, but I've probably jinxed it now.

Sounds like you have the wrong car for your needs.
