Thanks. Is removal, taking apart and re-installation of the valve blocks a straightforward job for a garage or should it be a specialist? Any idea on labour and parts costs or time?
Hi
Realised that the rear drivers side was sitting low as well, but pops up when the car is moved.
Just checked the fluid levels and they are slightly below the On and Off marks.
Maybe not a valve block?
Worth topping up the fluid?
Cheers
Hi all
Started the SL yesterday and go the ABC - Stop - Car Too Low message in red so obviously switched the car off. Was in a rush so simply took wife's car instead and came back later to have a better look.
The front driver side wheel arch was indeed quite low and noticeably lower than the...
Nope. Parked it up last night, all fine.
Started it up this morning and got deafened by the radio static blasting out of the speakers. Volume control was quite binary - I could turn it down completely or have it full blast.
Tried the CD player and same thing.
Ended up switching the audio system...
Thanks all. We’re a bit stuck as most of the SUV styles are diesel, particularly the ones we like the look of.
Last time we bought, Adblue wasn’t much of a thing, EGR was but we have never had any issues with that.
We do some local miles but also quite frequent trips on the motorways.
Thanks. We only do about 10k miles annually in the family car, but most of the ones that we’ve seen have been diesel.
Been a while since bought a new car so not sure of what the Adblue issues are?
Hi
Thinking of getting a new family car sometime soon as the ever increasing ULEZ means our current family car will incur a charge.
So had a quick look at what’s around and saw the GLC.
Probably looking at a 2016/17 model.
What’s the general consensus and experience of these?
Cheers
Washed and polished. Now I can where some scrote scratched it in the car park properly!
Other than that, took advantage of the bright, dry weather yesterday to have a good run with the roof down..
Well, its even odder now. I went out and had a look, poked around near the belts and the compressor, switched the a/c off and on etc. Went to switch the car off and it was blowing cold air!
Took it for a drive and it carried on working. Magic?
Not done today, but as I haven't been on here for a while, some of what I've had done is:
- New high-level brake light
- New boot seal for roof
- Had a car port built so I have somewhere to put it to keep it dry.
Afternoon all
The a/c in my '05 R230 wasn't blowing cold at all on Friday as I was driving into London. Thought it may need a top-up so took it to a local garage that I know well.
Long story short, they said there is plenty of gas in the system, but what is happening is that the compressor...
System on, top down....
First time in absolutely ages! Reminded me of why I bought it in the first place. I mean its a good fixed head coupe, but it is a much better roadster!
I did mine ages ago and the heater box has been bone dry ever since. I left the bung out in the end - mainly as I couldn't fit it back in! - but in hindsight, its meant that the box has stayed dry.
Relatively simple job if you have a jack so you can get the wheel off.
Been a while so thought I'd update the thread.
Took it in beginning of the year and had all the drains cleaned out, the seals cleaned etc.
The 3rd brake light was in bad condition so had that replaced.
Its lived under a cover since so hasn't seen much rain, apart from when I've driven in the...
