Sorry, your wording made it seem to me that you were fitting the parts yourself. Broken springs often make bongbonbong noises when turning.

Did you spin the wheel more than one full revoluion when removed? Best way is to take wheel off, lock the spiral, remove the spiral and then remove column.

Did you remove the steering wheel to change ESL? Did you replace the column and wheel in the exact same place? Sounds like the steering angle sensor is unhappy about the steering.

Set the pressures to the cap, THEN reset the dash to the new pressures.
