The MB warranty excludes, which i would have expected/liked:
All 'trim' - including interior. So if the glovebox falls off i'm stuffed.
Lamp Units inc. any/all LEDs - so that's the multibeam LED headlights not covered. Not good enough.
Release cables - i'd expect them to be covered at lower...
I need to sit and read what they include/specifically exclude before shelling out, although i did cost for the extended warranty in buying the car. Feels like last month i got it - its been nearly 2 years!
My E400, as the OP, is coming up to its warranty expiry, i am looking into taking out the MB extended warranty - but i need to establish if it is worth the paper it is written on. If not, the car needs to go because my faith in it to not throw any OTT huge bills over the next 5 years is shot.
Is is possible to complain direct to your local corporate office? State that there are recalls elsewhere in the world and you are considering legal action to recover your outlay? MB customer service really has gone down the toilet recently...
This probably explains why my insurance has gone up from £550 to £1700 on renewal on my E400d. Only changes are one extra year NCB. I can't get it down below £1200 PA with a 'cheap' policy, still over a 100% increase which isn't well timed. Probably another reason to get rid...
To add to the ongoing list of issues with my E400d, for the past 10k miles i have been seeing regular (say every 3k mi) 'top up oil' warnings.
I have added about 1.5l oil over 10k mi.
Car is at the dealer today for a host of warranty issues (most they claim they cannot find/diagnose, and have...
Engine seems fine, but definitely down on power since the repair, im wondering if they changed the ECU map/software when it was in.
I have had issues with the power trunk/boot jamming open, and odd rattles/clatters.
Since the car went in for the above, i have had numerous issues with the...
I will call them both. AMS are near us also, but i haven't tried them yet. I'm wondering if a VAG specialist would indeed be the best route as we are sick of the hassle of taking the car in, waiting a day or two then being told they dont know what the fault is because 'everything looks fine'...
If i have the car long enough for it to get notably 'dirty' and the garage are good to me, then yes, i usually return it clean. Same with fuel, photo fuel level on collection, match it on return give or take.
If the garage are a55h0les then it gets returned 'as is'. Had a 208 from a crooked...
Can anyone recommend an A/C specialist near Northampton?
Sorry if i'm not posting in the best place. Taken my partner's Ibiza to several local 'good' independant garages to diagnose and repair not working AC - all come back with 'you need a specialist mate'. The only AC specialist i knew of in...
Mine is back in next week for the recall on the coolant pump valve solenoid thingy. Since getting it back from the above visit(s) the battery and fluid level issues seem to have abated, but now the bonnet keeps saying it is open when it isn't. It has also developed a loud dash rattle and the...
The dealers are struggling too (not that anyone has any sympathy for them), they are struggling to get and retain trained staff (probably try paying them better) and are sick of warranty problems which they don't get paid enough for by the manufacturer to rectify.. hence shoddy work because the...
Actually - i have heard there are water pump issues... i think a recall has been issued, something to do with the valve which restricts flow failing and the solenoid(?) burning out, with a fire risk associated?? I'm going to have a look into it again now...
Water pump.. that's a new one. I've only seen the tandem oil/vacuum pumps having issues on these.
Also, the dealer had my car back in Wednesday for using/loosing oil and the battery issues. Despite pressuring them to diagnose the issue, their response after two days, was 'we charged the...
Today, having gotten my E400d back from the dealer for loss of oil and battery warnings (solved, supposedly by topping up the oil and charging the battery... let see how long that lasts) i've noticed that some of the matte 'wood' trim has flaked off the dash segment. I've gone round the car...
In our family we have had merc vehicles dating back to i'd say pre WW2, almost consistently. Currently we have, in our immediate and close family, W124, W210, W211, W212 and now the W213, as well as a W204, W205, W168 and W220, and a host of others which have been and gone. Its clear to see the...
Jonathon/Phil, - Ive had my E400d back for around a month, having been off the road for 3 months. Since then it has needed to be jump started twice (i suspect the batt was left to discharge too low whilst it was sat at the dealer and it has been damaged/lost capacity) and it is doing far too...
